Architects sought for Boroughmuir High School revamp, Edinburgh

  • Comment

[Requests to participate must be received by 24 January 2012] Edinburgh City Council is looking for design services to refurbish and extend Boroughmuir High School or to design a new build school in the city centre depending on the result of a statutory consultation

The council will decide this summer whether to refurbish or relocate the school but architect-led teams have been invited to tender for either of two separate lots now.

If renovated, the Grade B-listed building will undergo a £25 million refurbishment and extension programme aimed at boosting student numbers to 1,150.

If relocated, a new 13,000m² school wil be built at Fountain Quay with a slightly higher budget of £28 million.

The project is expected to comment later this year.
