  • Comment

Swansea University is on the hunt for an architect for a BREEAM Outstanding innovation factory on its new 26 hectare Bay Campus

The winning team will complete a feasibility study for the 5,000m² facility which will feature research labs and auditoriums for postgraduate training.

The building – which will also include exhibition spaces, offices and a digital fabrication workshop – is the first phase of a planned 15,000m² expansion of Swansea’s college of engineering.

The feasibility study will include renders, elevations, sections and a 3D fly-though of the new structure. Preliminary costs and outline proposals for landscaping will also be required.

Planned to complete in 2020, Bay Campus is being constructed on a former BP transit site in Neath Port Talbot on the eastern approach into Swansea.

The campus is masterplanned by Porphyrios Associates and Hopkins Architects is delivering the first phase.

The deadline for requests to participate is 31 October.
