Architect sought for Sussex university life sciences overhaul

The University of Sussex is on the hunt for an architect to redevelop its life sciences buildings

Budgeted at between £20 million and £60 million, the project will regenerate all existing life sciences buildings and supporting facilities on the Falmer campus close to Brighton.

The 94-hectare campus was designed by Basil Spence in the 1960s and includes a number of award-winning structures.

Sussex university’s school of life sciences – known as LIFESCI features 70 teaching staff and around 200 research fellows and technicians.

Up to 350 undergraduate and postgraduate students are accepted to the school every year.

The deadline for requests to participate is 19 December.
