Architect sought for new OFGEM headquarters fit out

  • Comment

The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (OFGEM) is recruiting an architect for a 4,500m2 fit out of its new central London headquarters

The winning team will deliver new Category B office space for the regulator’s 760 staff inside a London building which has yet to be confirmed.

OFGEM is leaving its current home inside the Grade II-listed 9 Millbank (pictured) next year ahead of the landmark’s planned conversion into residential apartments.

Eric Parry won planning permission to convert the five-storey building – designed by architect Frank Baines for Imperial Chemical Industries in 1929 – in August 2014.

Up to five teams will be shortlisted for the £400,000 contract which is expected to run for 30 months.

The deadline for requests to participate is 12noon on 25 February.
