Architect sought for communications HQ in Tanzania

  • Comment

The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority and Pan African Postal Union are on the lookout for an architect for an office development in Arusha

The project will create a new headquarters and regional office for the two organisations on Plot No. 111 block Z within the city’s Golf Course Sekei district.

A shortlist of teams will be invited to draw up proposals for the new building following an initial ‘expressions of interest’ round.

The winning team will design and develop architectural drawings for the structure and supervise its construction.

Key tasks include developing conceptual architectural designs, preparing a bill of quantities, overseeing tendering for the main contractor, and supervising the contractor during construction.

Located on the eastern edge of the Great Rift Valley close to Mount Kilimanjaro, Arusha is one of the main cities in northern Tanzania and has a population of around 400,000.

The city, known as the capital of the East African Community, is home to the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

The deadline for registration is 11 November.
