Architect sought for £10m Stockton leisure centre

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is on the hunt for an architect for a new £10 million multi-activity leisure facility in Ingleby Barwick

Planned to complete in 2018, the project will create a combined 3,500 m² facility featuring a 25-metre swimming pool, gym, fitness suite, community library and customer service kiosk.

Up to five teams will be shortlisted for the scheme which is planned for a site on Blair Avenue next to the All Saints Academy.

Structural engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, quantity surveying and landscape design services will also be required.

Ingleby Barwick was constructed as a private housing estate during the 1970s.

The deadline for requests to participate is 10am on 17 February.
