Place Partnership is looking for an experienced architect to design a £15.5 million combined fire and police station in Hereford
The 6,600m² scheme will also include a fire service training facility alongside parking for employees and visitors, and the winning team will develop it from RIBA Stage 0 to 7.
The project, for the Hereford and Worcester Fire & Rescue Authority, will replace the city’s existing fire and police stations with a combined facility on Edgar Street near the Hereford FC football ground (pictured).
According to the contract notice: ‘The successful candidate for the project will be selected on the basis of financial and economic standing and technical capacity – including a proven track record and the ability to deliver innovative designs.
‘Bids are then evaluated on the “most economically advantageous” basis, including quality systems and fee rates. Experience of designing within the emergency service (blue light) public estate is essential, and practices will be required to provide suitable references and evidence of successful project delivery.’
Place Partnership is a private company set up by a number of public sector bodies to deliver regeneration projects across the West Midlands.
Documents must be requested by noon, 10 January and the deadline for applications is noon, 17 January.
