[Registration deadline is 1 December and the contest closes 16 January] Cascadia Green Building Council and the Aleutian Housing Authority (AHA) are on the hunt for interdisciplinary teams to design housing for the Aleutian Islands near Alaska in the United States
Teams must create a prototype for an environmentally-friendly, energy-efficient, affordable, single-family home in a rural community confronted with high construction costs, an extreme climate and a need for adopting alternative fuel strategies.
Registration deadline is 1 December and the contest closes 16 January

Entry fees are $100 for professional teams, $50 for individuals outside of a company and $25 for students.
The winner will have the opportunity to develop the design with the AHA and will also receive a $35,000 cash prize. The second place-winning entry will receive a $15,000 prize.
