Colour Factory: Dan Brill Architects

  • Comment

This small studio and workshop, located in the enclosed garden of artists’ collective Colour Factory, was driven by an extremely challenging construction budget of £15,000

The 25m² building comprises a timber and plywood structure, clad in translucent, colourful polycarbonate panels that reflect the ethos of the client. Apertures in the plywood create pools of coloured light inside the building during the day and glowing circles of colour to its exterior at night. The project was funded in part by the Arts Council, Winchester City Council, Penningtons Solicitors and charitable contributions from suppliers.
