ecoShowcase Bristol

  • Comment

6th December 2012, Bristol

Bristol is the last stop of the year for the ecoShowcase Roadshow, an event promotes sustainable products and processes in the built environment and which has already visited twelve other locations this year including Cardiff, Northampton, Sheffield and London.

The event, now in its fourth year, combines a product exhibition by green manufacturers and a seminar programme and is targeted towards local architects, surveyors, engineers, developers and procurement professionals.

Framework Media, who organise the ecoShowcase have ensured that the event focuses as much on sustainable materials and processes as on renewable energy. The organisation’s managing director, Steve Jones, said: ‘Of course renewable energy is important but sustainable construction is about so much more. It’s a complex subject that affects every stage of the construction process, from rainwater run-off to green roofs, natural insulation solutions to sustainable forestry, cement and concrete alternatives to energy efficient windows and so on.’

Seminars at the event include: Building a Low Carbon Future, which will update delegates on carbon legislation and will discuss renewable incentives in domestic housing; Specifying For A Sustainable Future, which will focus on sustainable materials and products; and Sustainable Roof Design, which will look at the implications and relative merits of solar, green and cool roofs.

After visiting Bristol, the ecoShowcase will move to 12 cities in 2013, beginning with Manchester on 14th February.
