Controlling sound transfer between dwellings in apartment blocks while keeping construction heights to a minimum is a challenge for many designers. To help overcome this problem, CMS Acoustic Solutions
has designed the IsoMax Clip system – a high-performing and cost-effective alternative to traditional wall and ceiling decoupling methods. The IsoMax Clip is a complete isolation system made using a special rubber insulator. The company claims that the product outperforms standard resilient bar
constructions by up to 7dB, offers sound insulation of 56dB, and can also withstand loads of 22.5kg
per clip. Unlike many existing products, the IsoMax Clip does not require a large void between the wall or ceiling. This low-profile design means construction heights can be minimumised, without encroaching on available living space. Quick and easy to install, the IsoMax Clip is a cost-effective way of achieving superior noise control in walls and ceilings. Attaching the system to ceiling joists, timber and metal studs or masonry simply secures the drywall furring channel and decouples the gypsum board from the non-isolated structure. The clip is suitable for new builds and refurbishments, and expected to be popular in city-centre developments.
