Curved Ashzip standing seam roofing from Ash & Lacy was used on The New England Quarter scheme in Brighton. The scheme comprises two hotels, commercial and retail spaces, a college, a community centre, supermarket and a number of distinctive residential properties.
The scheme incorporated Ash & Lacy’s full-height halters, which made for fast, accurate and consistent setting out prior to the laying of the top sheets. The strength, lightness and ease of handling Ashzip sheets meant they could be easily manipulated and positioned to ultimately create a roof that is both aesthetically pleasing as well as offering excellent longevity for the life of the building. The aluminium sheets used on the New England Project were manufactured on-site in continuous lengths and applied directly to the roof structure, creating the curved roof profile which adds to the visual impact of the properties. The sheets were then ‘zipped’, to create the characteristic weatherproof and wind-resistant standing-seam roofing for which Ashzip is renowned.
