John Pardey completes trio of Brighton homes

  • Comment

John Pardey Architects has completed a £2.5 million development of three homes in Brighton

PROJECT DATA • PLANS • SECTION

Built for developer Baobab, the family homes were designed for the open-market as an alternative to the zinc-roofed and white-rendered modernist homes common in Brighton.

The houses feature a grey brick base which contains the entrance, services, and a living room adjoining the garden. Beneath this there is an additional storey of bedroom spaces.

A timber-clad box sits above the lower brick floor housing the main living spaces including a study, utility room, kitchen, dining and living room which opens out onto a roof terrace.

Each house is made different through subtle changes to fenestration at street level and through the use of coloured stains to the upper timber boxes.
