Foster Lomas wins planning for home among back gardens

  • Comment

Foster Lomas has been granted planning permission for a backland home in Richmond, London

Accessed by a driveway through a passage in a terraced house, the new home will be built on a backland site surrounded by gardens.

The two-bedroom house is designed to sit entirely within the existing volume of a derelict covered courtyard.

A ‘louvred shed’ placed ontop of the retained perimeter brickwall will contain bedrooms, with the living and kitchen spaces below.

The original concept model for the house was included in this year’s Royal Academy summer show, which the planning officer visited.
