PROJECT DATA • ARCHITECT’S VIEW • PLANS

The scheme has expanded the house’s original two storeys into four by adding a new basement and extending into the loft space.

A folded metal stair connects the floors wile a glazed panel in the living room floor allows light down into the basement kitchen and dining area.

Architect’s view

At Clarendon Mews we have used changes of level, increased ingress of light and a lightness of palette with the materials to maximise the sense of space within the small mews building.

The original rafters in the loft space were refurbished and left with a rough finish to contrast with the smoothness of the new joinery. The range of materials and colours: limed oak; pale limestone; whites and greys enhances the lightness of touch.
