Architype unwraps Winchcombe School

  • Comment

[FIRST LOOK + PLANS + DATA] Architype has refurbished and expanded a primary school in Newbury, Berkshire

The £5.8 million project included the demolition of an existing infant school and the overhaul and extension of the junior school block, rationalising the primary school into a single building.

The school is organised into a series of ‘hubs’ with the library, ICT and practical teaching spaces arranged at the centre of the building, the classrooms ranged along the southern facade.

The scheme expands the school from single form entry to one and a half form entry and has been designed to allow further expansion in the future.
