HTA recognised for Best Use of Technology in AJ100

HTA

HTA Design has been awarded Best Use of Technology at the 2016 AJ100 Awards

HTA Design’s Digitising Custom Build project stood out for the way it demonstrated the application of an exceptionally clear idea. HTA and Cornwall Council, drawing on town-planning procedures in the Dutch city of Almere, agreed a range of options for new houses on plots within a masterplan for the Trevenson Park site in the village of Pool. HTA’s aim was to replace existing time-consuming processes with new ones that enable clients to implement custom-build projects easily.

Working in collaboration with Slider Studio, HTA created software prototypes and CAD tools that could be used to investigate design choices. HTA designed a number of custom-build house types for housebuilder Kingspan Potton with built-in design options. These will be offered to prospective buyers at Trevenson Park, enabling them to investigate customisation options. Recalling its early work in community architecture, HTA Design has developed a much-needed tool with enormous potential to rationalise, expedite and democratise planning processes in Britain.
