It’s all been about the Olympics these past few weeks. The AJ Buildings Library has led the way with photography, drawings and data for 19 London 2012 venues - celebrated in a supplement in the magazine.

There’s good news for students: AJ reviews of every student show in the UK and Ireland have been published in a special issue of the magazine on 26 July - plus students can subscribe to the AJ for just £82.50.


The AJ now has a group on LinkedIn to answer your questions about the magazine directly - AJ editor Christine Murray monitors the group daily and will respond to your points.

On the subject of comments, several readers have complained that the ability to leave anonymous comments on the AJ site has on occasion led to too many aggressive opinions on the site. We agree, and from now on all comments will be accompanied by the author’s name.

The AJ Buildings Library is a digital database that showcases hundreds of exemplar projects, most from the last 20 years but including major projects back to 1900. All AJ subscribers now have full access to the Library.



The AJ doesn’t get everything right first time: in AJ21.06.12 the contractor for Theatre Royal, Newcastle was Surgo Construction, not Miller Construction.


Customer Service manager Struan Rae says: ‘The main reason for subscribers contacting us recently has been activating their online accounts. So, here are a few simple pointers:

  • Online accounts can only be activated with the details of the named subscriber 
  • If you need to change your password, you can do in My Account then Account Settings
  • If you ever forget your password, there is a reminder button at the sign in page

‘A number of people have also reported that they repeatedly have to sign-in on the AJ site. You’ll be pleased to know that the technical issue we were experiencing has now been fixed and this should no longer happen.’
