So who were they? I know this is an opinion piece but it would be nice to have it grounded in some facts. And probably nice for your judges who have given their time.
If this is "substantially realising the vision for the area" I think both the government and Cardiff council need to start aiming a bit higher with their visions.
The BBC is reporting that only 7 buses an hour will use it at peak times. It will also not incorporate cycle parking and cycling may even be banned in the adjacent square.
This is a money making scheme in the heart of Cardiff, with buses being used as a distraction, as opposed to meaningful transport infrastructure.
It would be interesting to know how the benefit of having an arena in the city centre vs out of town is measured.
Or maybe the side effects of more trade for pubs and hotels, the sight and sound of people heading to a gig, the community sense of ownership of a building, the building's effect as a psychological market for regeneration can't be empirically measured, and therefore the out of town option in it's sad vacuum wins.
I suppose it's the natural result of appointing accountants to design a city.
Anonymous beat me to it! With that carpark "landscape first" is cheap marketing hype; the project is left with too little landscape to be countryside /arcadian, or dense enough to contribute to the city.
Monica Cherry's excellent "Building Wales" is rapidly becoming a record of demolished buildings. Brynmawr is gone, Trawsfynydd is being demolished, BBC Llandaf will soon follow. This won't improve the situation.
I agree very much with Peter Kelly's comment above. That render misleadingly suggests a roof that is only a few millimetres thick.

It seems amazing that with such investment of time and money at Elephant and Castle that a better traffic solution could not be found, thus these images still show 6 lanes of traffic encircling the proposal.
