UK's first eco-town starts on site

Construction of the PRP-designed initial phase of the UK’s first eco-town in North West Bicester, Oxfordshire has started on site

Construction has started almost seven years after the former Labour government’s high-profile initiative was launched.

Masterplanned by Terry Farrell, the project for developer A2Dominion features 393 zero carbon residential units, a primary school, community centre, retail and ‘eco pub’.

The project start coincides with criticism from architects of emerging government plans for a fresh wave of garden cities.
