Tripping all over Battersea

The new US Embassy may have trouble with noisy neighbours, such as Battersea’s psychedelic contingent

Covering the announcement of KieranTimberlake’s competition-winning embassy design last week, Channel 4 News presenter Jon Snow said: ‘We’ve just had an email in. It says that area in Nine Elms currently hosts the largest psy-trance raves in London.’ Good show!

Meanwhile, Battersea resident and conservation architect Keith Garnertold the AJ that he believes newly released images of Rafael Viñoly’s proposal for Battersea Power Station distort its presence on the riverfront. Garner says: ‘For the view you published to be accurate, the Thames would have to be at least half a mile wide.’
