That hit the spot

Of a Friday evening Astragal is often found propping up a bar in the less salubrious postcodes of East London, it’s rare though that this can be - however tenuously - dubbed ‘work’. Last Friday, however Astragal found himself at some architectural show-and-tell caper called ‘X-Spot’. Treading the boards of a packed upstairs room at The George Tavern, a pub beloved of Kate Moss and George Galloway alike, were architects and designers. Snappy five minute presentations covered subjects from architecture and food, giant birds and an obsessive room-mapping project. Events kicked off at a sensible 11pm (lecture organisers take note) and Astragal enjoyed a Friday evening more enlightening than his average courtesy of, amongst others, Adam Khan, Alex Bank, Emanuel Sousa and Nicholas Lobo Brennan.
