Tata to architecture

Hot on the heels of the revelations about NicolasSarkozy's totty Carla Bruni's brief flirtation with architecture, Astragal was interested to learn about another architect manque.

This time it is Ratan Tata, the eponymous owner of India's Tata Steel, the company that now owns Corus and that recently launched the world's cheapest car. Tata graduated in architecture and structural engineering from Cornell University, before knuckling down to the family business. Undeniably less beautiful than Ms Bruni, he is undoubtedly much richer - and certainly better off than any practising architect.
