Winner of the 2012 RIBA ICE McAslan Bursary revealed

The RIBA 2012 ICE McAslan Bursary has been won by architect Nicola Antaki for her school design project in India

Architect Nicola Antaki has been awarded the 2012 RIBA ICE McAslan Bursary for her project focusing on creating affordable and reproducible full scale prototypes for schools in Mumbai, entitled Healthier LearningSpaces for Municipal Schools in Mumbai.

The £7,500 prize which is supported by John McAslan + Partners will enable further development of the scheme.

The first project to be supported through Nicola’s bursary will be the development of a roof garden at Lovegrove School in Mumbai. This project aims to look at how architecture can affect learning outcomes in primary school children, and will form part of her PhD.
