Reconnect Your Space competition: Call for entries
The Reconnect Your Space competition by Interface invites designs for spaces inspired by nature
Interface has launched a global competition named ‘Reconnect Your Space’ which calls for architectural, interior or urban landscape design entries with a focus on nature, or biophilia. Biophilic design incorporates natural elements into man-made environments in order to improve well-being and create healthy productive habitats.
The competition is open to architects, designers and students to submit their visions for how biophilia can influence the design of a new or existing space. The focus will be on designs for experiential interior spaces that echo nature. The competition also invites architectural design submissions for urban projects – a biophilic vision for specific areas of a city.
To enter submit your entry using the Interface Reconnect website, attach a sketch, drawing, or rendering and a 150 word description. The panel will select the winner from six finalists determined by social media based voting at interfacereconnect.com. Judges include:
- Robert D. Fox, principal at New York-based Fox Architects
- Paul McGillick , editorial director at Indesign Publishing
- Richard Weston, professor of architecture at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University
The winner’s prize includes travel and accommodation to experience biophilia’s influence in design at one of the following locations:
- San Francisco, USA
- Cornwall, UK
The deadline in 1 April, and the winner will be announced 6 May.
