The Reconnect Your Space competition by Interface invites designs for spaces inspired by nature

Interface has launched a global competition named ‘Reconnect Your Space’ which calls for architectural, interior or urban landscape design entries with a focus on nature, or biophilia.  Biophilic design incorporates natural elements into man-made environments in order to improve well-being and create healthy productive habitats.

The competition is open to architects, designers and students to submit their visions for how biophilia can influence the design of a new or existing space. The focus will be on designs for experiential interior spaces that echo nature. The competition also invites architectural design submissions for urban projects – a biophilic vision for specific areas of a city.

To enter submit your entry using the Interface Reconnect website, attach a sketch, drawing, or rendering and a 150 word description. The panel will select the winner from six finalists determined by social media based voting at interfacereconnect.com. Judges include:

The winner’s prize includes travel and accommodation to experience biophilia’s influence in design at one of the following locations:

  • Singapore
  • San Francisco, USA
  • Cornwall, UK

The deadline in 1 April, and the winner will be announced 6 May.
