MH Architects design West Sussex Passivhaus development

[FIRST LOOK] Standings Court social housing development incorporates 12 houses designed to Passivhaus and CSH level 4 and 26 units that are CSH level 5 certified

Standings Court is a three block terraced social housing development located in Horsham, West Sussex.

Designed by MH Architects for Saxon Weald Housing Association, the 38 houses were manufactured off-site using SIPs which incorporated FSC certified timber and A+ rated materials.

Twelve houses were designed to Passivhaus and CSH level 4 standards and are expected to reduce annual heating consumption to below £100.

The remaining 26 units accomplished the CSH level 5 certification, as recycling facilities and cycle storage were incorporated, combined with a photovoltaic array to offset the carbon produced. All houses incorporate environmental features such as a highly insulated thermal envelope, triple glazed windows and MVHR.
