Director comment: Studio-based course introduces students to current debates on climate change and diverse passive low energy design strategies to improve building efficiency. Develops necessary environmental modelling skills to assess the effectiveness of proposals. Students will be learning design methods and approaches to low carbon building design, such as incorporating daylight and natural ventilation. Environmental simulation software is used as part of design process.
Career opportunities: Work within environmental design-specific practices, architectural firms and cross-disciplinary environments, as well as engagement in issues exploring the sustainable urban environment.
Entry requirements:
- Good honours degree in interior design, architecture or related subject, or
- Equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications
- Overseas applicants: minimum IELTS 6.5 or equivalent
