Studio E set to build Hackney Academy
The school, sponsored by financial consultants KPMG and the City of London under the government's Academies Programme, will accommodate 1,140 pupils, replacing the existing Homerton College with new ‘state-of-the-art’ facilities.
According to the London-based architect, the Academy will ‘take the form of a colourful building ribbon that responds sensitively to its surroundings’. The practice says that a ‘necklace’ of classrooms will wind among clusters of existing trees.
