The Amelia Street live/work community is one of London’s precious jewels, a valuable rarity. But the community spirit is not reflected in the area’s narrow walkways, open spaces, vegetation and street furniture

We want to renew a sense of ownership and pride in this vibrant area by defining the neighbourhood as a street park. We want to extend the park into the streets.

We will return control of the streets to pedestrians, transforming movement by creating a network of paths that cross the street between front doors and local facilities.

We will reconnect people with the natural landscape by integrating planting and food production within the neighbourhood fabric and introducing ecology, seasonality and colour to the urban landscape.

We will create open spaces defined by the community, providing opportunities for landscape or creative projects in the future, such as allotments, food for all, play space, outdoor galleries and image projection.
