Yo!Home launches at 100% Design

At the annual design interiors trade event, a pioneering living space offers a prototype for affordable residential conversions

Yo!Home – a new living space which allows a single space of 80m2 to morph into different functional rooms – will be launched at 100% Design.

The housing unit will use moveable walls and mechanical features to change the space into a master bedroom (or two smaller bedrooms), a dining room, an office, a full size kitchen, a sunken sitting room, a bathroom/spa, a reception room or a cinema.

Yo!Home was developed by Simon Woodroffe, who created the Yo!Sushi and Yotel brands, and draws on his previous career as stage designer as well as the compact living space of his house boat on the Thames.

Woodroffe said: ‘Eleven moving parts drawing on the mechanics of stage scenery allow the transformation of an eighty square metre space, the size of a one bedroom apartment, into eleven different rooms – what a much bigger apartment might have.’

Yo!Home will act as a prototype for the launch of new, affordable residential and office conversions which Woodroffe hopes to export worldwide.
