University of Westminster course allows overseas architects to become ARB accredited

Westminster University offers new short course which allows overseas applicants to prepare for ARB exams

The University of Westminster has launched a short course which will enable applicants with overseas architectural qualifications to prepare for ARB Part 1 and Part 2 Prescribed Examinations.

The course – the only programme of its kind in the UK – will run twice a year and will include advice on how to prepare for the ARB examinations, how to present student portfolios in order to meet ARB/RIBA criteria and interview skills.

Stephen Brookhouse, who is leading the team delivering the course, said: ‘I decided to design a short course that we could offer twice a year to suitably qualified professionals who have appropriate overseas qualifications and want to practice in the UK.’

He added: ‘The course will be delivered to small groups through a mixture of seminars and group work. We want to give applicants the very best opportunity of passing Parts 1 and 2 so that they can then progress to taking Part 3 and register as architects in the UK.’
