Sculpture recalls maritime history

Artwork in form of dockside moorings celebrates anniversary

A new artwork at the University of Plymouth to celebrate its 150th year has been completed by Ian McChesney Architects.

The sculpture, entitled ‘Arrival and Departure’ takes the form of two nautical bollards, referencing Plymouths long maritime history.

The artwork is located in St James Square, which has been redeveloped to include a new residential building, refectory and the new Rolle Building, an academic complex by David Morley Architects.
