Products: BFI Library

A selection of the products specified for Coffey Architects’ BFI Library

Architect’s choices

We used materials to express both a welcome and a sense of gravitas, to suit a number of different constituencies who will be using the BFI Reuben Library. All materials needed to suit modular construction for fast-track delivery, including the oak veneered boards of the joinery lining the space. The bronze mesh curtains act as acoustic baffles, and create a sense of enclosure over study areas while not impeding the sprinklers or ventilation. Their warmth of the bronze is complimented by the varied reds of the furniture. This is cut through by the white of the user positioned Anglepoise desk lights, while high-level black materials recede from view.
