Alcan Kapa GmbH is now called 3A Composites GmbH. The company with its two locations in Osnabrück and Singen will be operating from now on under the new name.
After the divestment of the world-wide composites business by Rio Tinto Alcan on 1st December, 2009, 3A Composites becomes an independent division of Schweiter Technologies, based in Horgen, Switzerland. The group formerly known as Alcan Composites, will now be presenting itself globally as 3A Composites. The business strategy and all operations will remain unchanged.
3A Composites GmbH consists of two sites - Osnabrück and Singen. Up until the sale of Alcan Composites to Schweiter Technologies, the site in Singen was part of Alcan Singen GmbH and was merged with Alcan Kapa GmbH, based in Osnabrück, during the course of the takeover.
The German activities of the globally operating 3A Composites Group are combined at 3A Composites GmbH. From here, the company operates throughout Europe in the markets for architecture, visual communication and transport/industry.
The Managing Director, Dr. Joachim Werner, explains, “Our belonging to Schweiter Technologies will enable us to continue expanding the market position which we have been developing since our foundation four decades ago under the former owner, Alusuisse. The proven quality of our branded products, the close relationship to our customers and end markets, and also the constantly expanding offering will stay our focus. Thanks to shorter and faster decision-making processes, the flexible adjustment to new market trends and customer requirements will be is accelerated.”
For over 40 years, 3A Composites GmbH has been successfully producing and commercialising aluminium composite panels, structural composite materials, plastic sheets and lightweight foamboards for the architectural, visual communication and transport / industry markets. It will continue to be doing so with the globally known brands ALUCOBOND®, DIBOND®, ALUCORE®, KAPA® and FOREX®.
