SAS International’s Project Management division has recently designed, supplied and installed the vitreous enamel wall paneling and ceiling solutions for the major refurbishment of City Thameslink station in London.
When City Thameslink first opened in 1990 it was fitted out with solutions designed and installed by SAS International. As part of the refurbishment to extend the platforms at City Thameslink SAS Project Management, the bespoke design, supply and installation division of SAS International, was asked to provide solutions to match those it had originally fitted for consistency of finish and structure.
This project provided a challenge as the wall panels supplied had to match the original design specification including the panel sizes and three shades of colour.
The £5.5bn investment in the Thameslink rail upgrade is to improve rail infrastructure and allow more capacity for those travelling through London.
SAS International Project Management has worked on numerous projects in the transport sector including Waterloo Station concourse and Peak Hour subway; and Snow Hill Station in Birmingham. The team is currently on site installing a bespoke ceiling solution at Blackfriars Station, London’s first station built over water.
