Laidlaw brings added security to Gulliver’s World hotel

Popular family theme park, Gulliver’s World Resort in Warrington, will soon see the completion of its newest addition – The Gulliver’s Hotel, which has been fitted with Laidlaw’s Ferramenta levers and Salto access control systems throughout.

Due to the nature of the project, it was important to ensure that the hotel was made as secure as possible. With this is mind, Laidlaw were tasked with supplying the Salto SVN access control system, in addition to a series of Laidlaw’s Ferramenta arched tubular door levers – these complementary systems were subsequently fitted to 57 bedroom doors, two external entrances and one automatic door system.

Nick Phillips, Director of the Gulliver’s Hotel, was keen to make the site as secure as possible. He said: “As a family orientated theme park hotel, we need to ensure that access is both limited and secure. Laidlaw were able to supply an access control system that worked well with our needs and featured added benefits for our younger guests too – utilising contactless technology as part of the access control system, parents are able to pre-load money onto the associated room cards and let their children use it as a means to pay for small items during their stay.”

“Whilst security was our primary concern, we needed to ensure that the aesthetics of the new hotel were not jeopardised as a result. The sleek Salto access system fits in perfectly with the look of the hotel and works incredibly well alongside Laidlaw’s Ferramenta levers, which help add a sense of exclusivity to the project.”

The Salto SVN Aelement range of electric locks and access systems are specifically designed for the hotel industry and combine functionality and aesthetics as standard. Using a door or wall mounted reader and a keycard, Salto access controls can be pre-programmed, via a dedicated computer management system, to allow users access to certain areas of a building, according to their individual needs.

Laidlaw’s Ferramenta architectural ironmongery range combines style, performance and quality to deliver a series of lever handles and escutcheons that are perfectly suited to modern settings, such as hotels. The levers are available in a series of straight and curved designs and can be supplied in a polished, satin or dual polished and satin stainless steel finish.
