Independent tests demonstrate superior resistance of DuPont Tyvek

Comprehensive ageing tests commissioned by the SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden have demonstrated the significantly superior reliability of DuPont™ Tyvek® in a crucial aspect of an underlay’s protective function. The results show that even after major exposure to both direct UV-A radiation and to heat, the watertightness of DuPont™ Tyvek® considerably outperforms that of a variety of multi-layer membranes.
This UV and heat resistance is crucial as the construction process often leaves membranes exposed for significant periods and over the life of a roof, heat can build up considerably. Therefore a roof incorporating DuPont™ Tyvek®, unique in its structure and the quality and thickness of its functional layer, will maintain its watertightness longer and more efficiently than many multi-layer membranes. In guarding the building from the damaging effects of water intrusion and in optimising energy efficiency and a healthy indoor climate, DuPont™ Tyvek® offers peace of mind to both constructors and home owners.
