DESSO has signed a partnership agreement with the Environmental Protection Encouragement Agency (EPEA) set up by Professor Dr Michael Braungart. DESSO has become the first carpet manufacturer in EMEA to adopt the EPEA’s Cradle to Cradle design philosophy. The Cradle to Cradle principle is focused on ‘upcycling’; products are made from pure components that are easy to disassemble in order to create new products in both the biological and technical cycles.

DESSO launched its first Cradle to Cradle certified carpet tile, Pallas, at Ecobuild 2009. After an impressive year of innovation and new products that has demonstrated the company’s long term commitment to Cradle to Cradle manufacturing DESSO will be showcasing a range of Cradle to Cradle certified carpet tiles at Ecobuild 2010, Stand 2382.

Cradle to Cradle carpet manufacturing lies at the heart of a wide range of measures implemented by DESSO to ensure its products promote a positive impact on people and the environment.
