[PRODUCT] Free tapered roof system design service

Foamglas manufacturer Pittsburgh Corning has launched a free-of-charge tapered roof system service for flat roofs. Its insulation system provides roof falls without screeds. This reduces the weight of roof construction. It also helps to eliminate potential flat-roof drainage problems and can save time and money.

In flat-roof construction, water needs to be directed quickly and effectively towards drainage points. Pittsburgh Corning’s CAD system generates roof systems with optimum efficiency. Initial budget estimates assume an average thickness. Once dimensional data and drainage outlets are confirmed, an outline plan is used to produce detailed quotations. When the order is placed, Pittsburgh Corning issues detailed plans showing thicknesses along with block positions and types.

The service includes initial training for installers that are unfamiliar with Foamglas, or have limited experience of tapered insulation. It ensures that all elements are fully compatible and, when bonded together, provide a weatherproof roof.

Foamglas cellular glass insulation is manufactured from 68 per cent recycled glass. It comprises millions of hermetically sealed glass cells and offers high compressive strength. As its only solid constituent is glass, it is inert, non-combustible and impervious to moisture.
