Bespoke items for commercial workspaces
A feature of Kirkstone’s service which clients have often found extremely useful is their ability to create bespoke items for commercial workplaces – on demand and, if needed, in volume. Their in-house CAD skills and CNC equipment mean that they are able to translate their clients’ design ideas into functional, beautiful surfaces.
Shown in the multimedia library above (img.1) is one of a number of bespoke hand basins crafted from Kirkstone’s unique Silver Green slate, for 16 washrooms in a commercial office space in London EC2 by Gibberd Architects.

The dynamic designs shown in the multimedia library (imgs.2 & 3) are the result of artist Susanna Heron using slate as a medium for interpretation. Kirkstone’s Brathay Blue Black slate was engraved to evoke a perception of depth, light, shade, movement and calm. Art and inspirational design - delivered in stone.

Kirkstone have now also increased their sales activity in the South East by appointing Rob Parfitt as Sales Director and Kathy Huntington as Sales Manager in the area. Both will be working from Kirkstone’s London showroom and offices in Fulham and will spearhead the promotion of the company’s own slates as well as a new line of commercial stones from Italy and Africa.
