Dedicated to specifiers

To make the specification process simpler, F. Ball offers a dedicated specifier support website:

www.f-ballspecifier.co.uk

The website has been developed to make flooring specifications quicker and easier, and forms part of a wider ‘Specifier Support’ package provided by the company.

Home to the online version of F. Ball’s flooring reference guide, Barriers Work, the dedicated specifier website outlines common flooring installation challenges, including isolating damp and contaminated subfloors, accommodating flexibility in wooden or steel subfloors, working to short timeframes, and overcoming structural weight issues. For each of these challenges, the site provides recommendations for simple solutions that can be easily incorporated into a specification. Users can also download product selector charts and technical data sheets, browse case studies, and see demonstration videos of recommended solutions and products.

Promoting CPD

In addition, the site helps specifiers and architects to identify the relevant, pre-written NBS (National Building Standards) specification clauses for an individual flooring installation project, which they can instantly view and download, saving valuable time.

F. Ball also offers an online RIBA-approved CPD (Continuing Professional Development) seminar, allowing specifiers and architects to improve their knowledge of surface preparation and flooring installation processes. Available for free, the interactive seminar covers subjects such as the current British Standards for the installation of floorcoverings, control of subfloor moisture, use of floor smoothing underlayments and selection of adhesives. Upon successful completion users will receive a certificate and can claim one hour of CPD.

Support literature

Through comprehensive technical literature and a problem solving support service, F. Ball provides information and assistance to specifiers in a way that makes product selection as easy as possible. For example, F. Ball’s trusted ‘Recommended Adhesives Guide’ (RAG) matches adhesives to more than 5,500 brand name floorcoverings from over 200 leading international manufacturers. Traditionally available in A4 and pocket-sized editions, the RAG is now accessible through a range of digital and interactive formats, making it easier than ever for specifiers to gain quick and convenient access to the most up-to-date information.

What’s more, F. Ball offers technical advice and support in a variety of ways. The company’s Technical Service Department is available to answer any queries over the phone or via email, and experienced technical representatives will offer on-site technical support and guidance when requested. A one-to-one product recommendation and advice service is also available to specifiers, distributors and contractors worldwide.
