Business booming for eco-classrooms

Modular teaching space provider stands to double its profits following the successful installation of units in East Anglia

Eco-classroom’s modular units comprise single-storey timber constructions with air source heat pumps, sun tubes to make use of natural daylight and insulated walls and roofs. The units can be constructed in just six weeks and are energy efficient compared to similarly-sized constructions in brick.

The popularity of the modular units means Eco-classrooms is set to double its turnover from £750,000 to £1.5m next year.

The company is also keen to diversify its modular units. Robert Hook, director at Eco-classrooms said: ‘We’re currently speaking to a number of London boroughs and other local councils, looking at the options we can provide so that we can continue diversifying. We currently have schemes for fast track doctors’ surgeries, changing facilities and offices on the drawing board.’
