Project Space for the Architecture Foundation, London by Carmody Groarke
This project space provides a place to host exhibitions and events, as well as workstations for up to 12 staff members
The site is a ground-floor, shop-fronted space within an Edwardian warehouse on Tooley Street, close to Tower Bridge, London. The space and furniture have been constructed entirely from plywood to bespoke requirements.
Textured Douglas fir ply was chosen for the walls to give the spaces a striking yet warm character, and hardwearing birch-faced ply was selected to construct the workstations. The open-plan space allows for a strong connectivity between functions and disciplines, while remaining fully adaptable and flexible.
