Parchment Street rear extension, Winchester by Dan Brill Architects

This extension provides a new kitchen/diner at the rear of a terraced property in Winchester, extending into the side return of the garden to make better use of residual space and allow for more natural light

Various architectural devices were employed to dissolve the internal and external relationship, including uninterrupted full-height glazing, aligned floor levels and a distinctive pink feature wall that extends into the garden.

The upstairs rear extension has also been reconfigured to create a larger bathroom. Previously organised as a bathroom and separate WC, these two rooms were opened up into a family bathroom, creating the space for a walk-in shower in addition to the bath.
Cost: £90,000
