Recycled illuminated furniture by Meritalia

Designer Mario Bellini’s inflatable furniture, which can serve as seating or as a source of light, is on show at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile

The material of Bellini’s Via Lattea line uses recycled steel mesh and fibres from the packaging used to transport sugar, grain and stone.

The range is a further development of the collaboration between Italian furniture maker Meritalia and Bellini. In 2007 he designed the Stardust range of inflatable furniture, Via Lattea adds new pieces to this first range; Mappamondo (Globe), the Buco bianco (White Hole), and the Galassia (Galaxy).
