New planning minister Nick Boles reportedly supports the ‘Tesco party’

The 47-year-old Conservative MP for Grantham and Stamford who took over in the role from Greg Clarke two months ago, indicated his allegiance to the ubiquitous shopping centre chain in an interview with The Spectator magazine.

He said: ‘Supermarkets have done more to promote the quality of life, the well-being, the happiness, all of those fluffy things that we put at the front and centre, than government has done in the past 20 years.’
