Work starts on Foster's New York tower

Work has begun on this 19-storey tower in New York by Foster + Partners

The tower on New York’s West 21st Street contains 44 apartments of which three are penthouses.

The apartments are all two to five-bedroom and have large column-free spaces including libraries, dining rooms, and galleries.

The three 575m² penthouses provide panoramic views across New York, with large private terraces, while the uppermost penthouse includes a rooftop terrace with a swimming pool, kitchenette and bar area.

Featuring a 10m-tall lobby space, the building also contains a gym, spa, and a children’s play area.

New York’s 303 Art Gallery will also be relocated to the building’s first two floors.

The scheme is expected to complete in 2015.
