Woods Bagot wins green light in Cayman Islands

Woods Bagot Architects has secured planning for the new headquarters of global offshore law firm Walkers in the Cayman Islands.

The seven-storey building will sit on stilts, and is designed to withstand hurricanes while incorporating environmental features such as solar heating and solar blinds that track the passage of the sun.

According to the London-based practice, the top floor will provide luxurious client meeting suites with high-end audio-visual equipment and catering.

The 10,000m2 structure has been designed in conjunction with another London-based firm, Sall, Cullinan and Buck Architects, and is expected to open in for business in January 2009.
