Why we gave the Emerging Woman Architect of the Year Award to Julia King

Eva Jiricna, Moira Gemmill, Martha Thorne and AJ editor Christine Murray on why the Women in Architecture jury awarded Julia King the 2014 Emerging Woman Architect of the Year Award

The researcher and designer, who is currently establishing practices in both New Delhi and London, saw off fierce competition to top the award category, open to architects and architectural designers who have been in their current role for less than five years.

Julia King, whose work focuses on the future of urban development, was described by the judges as ‘truly inspiring’.
