Whitehall job bagged by Allies and Morrison

Allies and Morrison has beaten Feilden Clegg Bradley, HOK and Feilden + Mawson to win the contest to remodel the Old Home Office Courtyard of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office headquarters in Whitehall.

The scheme, for Mace Construction, includes a new five-storey pavilion supporting a glazed roof.

As well as the complete restoration of the original courtyard facades, the project includes the refurbishment of the surrounding office space. The scheme is due to start on site in September of this year and complete by end of 2010.

Allies and Morrison are working alongside engineers Ramboll Whitbybird, Gleeds, Speirs & Major and Mach Acoustics.

This scheme was cancelled in late 2009 and will not now go-ahead.
